We’re proud to share the outcomes of the first year of the ReFarm pilot in Wicklow, where 12 farmers across the county created purpose-built wildlife ponds covering more than 2.3 acres. These habitats are already benefiting birds, amphibians, and invertebrates, while also supporting water retention and natural flood management.
The success of this pilot reflects the commitment of the participating farmers, the support of our funding partners, and everyone who joined us at the recent gathering at Kilranelagh Lodge. It was an inspiring opportunity to see the impact of collaborative, nature-positive farming on the ground.
As we move into the next phase, ReFarm is excited to build on this progress, expand the pilot, and continue learning from the farmers leading the way in biodiversity restoration.
